"German Music Instrument Award 2008" for Concert Guitar "Eigenes Modell 2007"
The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology awards this
prize to recognize outstanding products in musical instrument
making.
It has been presented at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt each year
since 1991 for two different instrument groups that change
annually.
The instruments are tested at the " IfM Institute for Musical Instrument Making" in Zwota. They have to pass an "objective" physical acoustical evaluation, a "subjective" practical playing test by five professional guitarists and an evaluation of the workmanship by an expert.
The instruments of Sascha Nowak and Urs Langenbacher were awarded the Price with exactly the same result.
The evaluation of the concert guitar "Urs Langenbacher eigenes Modell 2007":
The result of the physical technical test at the laboratory has been a strong frequency response for the whole frequency range. The higher registers have been very strong. The result of the deep foundamental resonance is a very warm fullbodied sound. The instrument has been tested in a very detailed test by five professional guitarists. The Instrument has reached the best result at this competition. The reason for this result have been the very even balanced sound over the whole range, the full bodied sound, the very good sustain, and good response on the players action. 5200 Euros have been estimated a very good cost-value relation. The proposed concept of the instrument has been veryfied very well by the competition results.
